Note: As far as Ironman spots are concerned, age
categories are determined by your age as of the race date of the
2009 Subaru Ironman Canada. (Aug. 30th, 2009)! The Great White North Triathlon
decides the allocation of IMC spots based on our entry data once the race has filled up!
Please know that we will always endeavor to be fair regarding this process. The amount of
spots per age group will be based on a ratio, set by Ironman Canada, and representitive of
the number of athletes competing in the categories. If you have any
questions regarding Subaru Ironman Canada qualifying spots you may contact our Ironman
Rolldown Captain, Cindy Cleaver (780)
929-6148 or call the G.W.N. office (780) 433-2047. |
Ironman
Registration Procedure
| Ironman Registration
- If you are attempting to qualify for a Subaru Ironman Canada spot, please make sure you are on the
list of qualifiers for your age group. The list will be posted at race package p/u.
Conversely, if you had previously entered that you were trying to qualify and have since
changed your mind, please remove your name from the list. At 4:00 PM on Sunday,
the list of IM qualifiers will be displayed in the foyer of the
Glenn Hall Centennial Arena. The placings in each division will be written in beside the names. Also, there will be a box
for "Accept" or "Decline" beside the names. Please sign in the
appropriate place. This will stop at 4:30 PM at which time we will begin
the application process. If you are successful, you must have cash, certified cheque, or
money order made out to Triathlon Alberta Corp. at the time
of acceptance. The IMC fees for 2008 are $550.00. If you are not present to
accept or decline at 4:30 PM, your name will be removed from the list and
the spot will roll down one place. You may have someone represent you for this process,
however, If you are successful in getting a spot, you must sign the IMC waiver. Any unused
spots in a particular age group will be included in the lottery. There will be a lottery
box at registration for you to put your name if you are interested in trying your luck in
the lottery. This draw will be made at 5:30 PM Sunday.
Please note: The people manning the Ironman rolldown area are
all volunteers. Please be patient with them and treat them with the utmost respect at all
times. The Great White North Triathlon reserves the right to refuse an IMC application due
to improper conduct. |
